How much does a website cost in Malaysia?
It is the first question in almost every call, and the honest answer is: it depends on what the site needs to do. Here is how we break it down.
A company website
Five to twelve pages, a contact form, and an editor your team can use. Most land between RM2,500 and RM6,000 depending on how much custom design and writing help you need.
An online store
Products, payments, delivery rules and stock. Expect RM6,000 to RM15,000, more if you need to connect to an existing inventory or accounting system.
A custom system
Booking, membership or rental systems start around RM8,000. The number of user roles, the approval steps and the reports you need are what move the price.
Whatever you build, budget for care: updates, backups and monitoring. A site that is not maintained gets slower and less safe every month.
Five signs you need a web system, not another spreadsheet
- The same data is typed into two or more places.
- Approvals happen over email and get lost.
- Only one person knows how the file works.
- You cannot tell who changed what, or when.
- Customers or members ask for updates you have to look up by hand.
If three or more of these sound familiar, a small web system will usually pay for itself within a year in saved hours alone.
What we learned monitoring 50 WordPress sites
When you are responsible for dozens of websites, the problems are rarely dramatic. They are small things that pile up quietly.
The usual suspects
Outdated plugins were the most common issue by far, followed by SSL certificates close to expiry and sites that had slowly become slow after years of added content.
What we changed
We built Pemantau, a dashboard fed by a small plugin on each site. It checks every five minutes and sends one daily summary instead of fifty separate emails.
